Panasonic has now released a new full-frame mirrorless camera, LUMIX S9. This model adopts a retro design like a range-like camera in appearance. The size is 126 (length) x 74 (width) x 47 (height) mm and weighs 486 grams. The body provides a total of five color combinations: black, blue, green, red, and black and silver, and is designed with a separate "LUT" button to facilitate users to quickly enable the real-time LUT function. In addition, Panasonic has also added a new "Leica monochrome" photo style to this camera. Currently, the LUMIX S9 has been sold overseas and is priced at US$1499 (equivalent to approximately 10859 yuan in RMB). It is not clear what the national selling price of the camera is currently.
In terms of sensors, the LUMIX S9 uses the same 24.2 megapixel IMX410 as the LUMIX S5M2. At the same time, the body also supports 5-gear body anti-shake (IBIS) and 6.5-gear collaborative anti-shake (Dual IS2), supports phase detection autofocus (PDAF), supports MP4 Lite video shooting, and is equipped with a touch-able free-flip screen. However, the body is not equipped with an electronic viewfinder (EVF), mechanical shutter and hot shoes.
In terms of video shooting specifications, the LUMIX S9 supports up to 6K30 P4freespincoinmaster:2freespincoinmaster:0 10-Bit video specification, when shooting with the C4K/4K60P 4:2:2 10-Bit video specification, there will be a picture cut of about 1.5 times. In addition, due to the cooling conditions of the body, the LUMIX S9's single recording time for 4K video is limited to 15 minutes, while the 6K video is limited to about 10 minutes.
In terms of special functions, the LUMIX S9 has 40 LUT loading gears, coupled with a separate "LUT" button, which means that users can quickly and easily convert 40 straight out styles of photos or videos during the shooting process. And the LUMIX S9's real-time LUT function has more screen adjustment options than models such as LUMIX S5M2/LUMIX S5M2X.
